Oh So Social were approached to create and manage a social media strategy for a three-month project for The Queen’s Birthday Book, a unique way for people across the world to wish Her Majesty The Queen a happy birthday in an online birthday book.
Our brief was to use social media to invite people from around the world to send their personal and heartfelt birthday wishes to the Queen on her milestone birthday.
The aim was to secure as many messages as possible from all 52 Commonwealth countries, and to support those ‘Famous Faces’ who wanted to leave messages and charities who wanted to be part of the project by creating ready-to-use promotional social media posts and content.
In addition to the social media strategy and content, we were asked to create an email marketing strategy to allow those who left messages to donate to the Queen’s chosen charities by purchasing a commemorative medal.
To achieve the project’s aims we used the main three social media channels of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram together with email marketing using Pure 360 to create an integrated campaign, ultimately exceeding the desired results of the project.
