We often talk about how working at Oh So Social is, well, oh so flexible. Flexible working might be the ‘in thing’ after the last 18 months, but it’s not just the ability to work from home. At Oh So Social, it’s so much more than that.
We started offering flexible jobs a long time before Covid made it a necessity. For example, I started working here in 2017. At the time, my son was about to turn one and I had left my previous role after my part-time hours request was denied. I applied for the Out of Hours Social Media position, which was advertised as work from home, evenings and weekends. It sounded perfect to fit around life with a toddler.
Since then, my role has grown to encompass so much more than just the Out of Hours position, including happily taking on the responsibility of being Oh So Social’s in-house Marketing Manager, and helping out on client accounts too. But I still work primarily from home, choose my own hours and enjoy spending time with my family, which is even more important to me since having my second son last year.
Fast-forward to today and it’s a central part of the ethos at Oh So Social to maintain a true work/life balance for all staff. Many employers proclaim they offer flexible working, but the reality is often far from it. All our roles can be full or part-time and, if you work for us, you can choose to work from home, the beach, your local café or the office – whichever suits you. Most of the team choose a hybrid of home and office – giving them the best of both worlds: a chance to socialise and collaborate with our awesome team, as well as the option to work around other commitments or just avoid the commute. Currently, the core office team are choosing to work Monday to Wednesday in the office, with the rest of the week at home.
We’re a creative bunch – you have to be to produce social media content for such a wide variety of clients. But who says creativity can only happen between the hours of 9am and 5pm? Not us. We encourage our team to work when they feel most productive and creative!
Currently, we are hiring for a Digital Account Manager – someone with a keen interest in social media management, experience in marketing and a flair for copy. If this sounds like you, then not only can you enjoy all of the flexibility you’ve already read about, but there are plenty of other reasons to work for us too. You can join us on our team outings (these usually involve beer and hilarity), indulge in our office snacks and reap the benefits of having an office by the water (a big plus if you like to SUP during a long lunch break!)
